- Analysis to Deliverable Gap. Measurements and models are only useful once clients understand them. Translating raw data into clear, approvable recommendations eats billable hours.
- Slow Design Iteration. Sketching diffuser options by hand or in general CAD is slow. Every client revision means recalculating well depths and redrawing geometry.
- Fabrication Handoff Friction. Shops need clean, dimensioned files. Producing CNC-ready exports from acoustic designs often means redrawing everything in another tool.
- Communicating Trade-offs. Clients weigh cost, aesthetics, and performance. Showing how each option changes the acoustics, visually, is hard without interactive tools.
Solutions
- Rapid Room Analysis. Estimate modal behavior and reverberation from dimensions, then refine as measurement data comes in. Identify problems before specifying treatment.
- Parametric Diffuser Design. Design QRD, PRD, MLS, and 2D diffusers by target frequency and bandwidth. Iterate on client feedback in seconds, not hours.
- Client-Ready Documentation. Generate specification documents with performance predictions, dimensions, and material requirements your clients can approve and archive.
- Fabrication-Ready Exports. Hand fabricators files they can run directly. Support your preferred shops without redrawing designs in another package.
Applications
- Recording & Broadcast Studios. Specify diffusion and absorption for control rooms and live rooms where accurate monitoring and a natural sound field matter.
- Performance & Worship Spaces. Balance clarity and envelopment in venues, theaters, and houses of worship where reflective volumes shape every event.
- Workplaces & Commercial. Control noise and reverberation in open offices, restaurants, and hospitality spaces without sacrificing the interior design.
- Education & Institutional. Improve speech intelligibility in classrooms, lecture halls, and libraries where clear communication supports the purpose of the room.
Questions fréquentes
- Does ResonAia replace acoustic measurement?
- No. ResonAia complements measurement and modeling, it does not replace them. Use your own measurement data to inform designs, then use ResonAia to iterate on diffuser geometry, predict scattering behavior, and produce fabrication-ready files. For projects that require certified measurement or detailed modeling, ResonAia fits alongside your existing tools and services.
- What inputs do the tools need?
- For initial analysis, room dimensions and intended use are enough to estimate modes, Schroeder frequency, and reverberation. As you gather measurements and material data, you can refine the analysis and match diffuser designs to the specific problems you find.
- Which diffuser types are supported?
- ResonAia covers quadratic residue (QRD), primitive root (PRD), and maximum length sequence (MLS) diffusers plus 2D, stepped, binary, wave, and fractal designs. Each is parameterized by design frequency and bandwidth so you can match a design to a target range and the depth you have available.
- Can I use the exports with any fabricator?
- Yes. Designs export as G-code, DXF, SVG, STL, and OBJ, formats that CNC routers, laser cutters, and 3D printers accept directly. You can work with your preferred millwork shop or fabricator without redrawing the geometry.
- Is the design based on published acoustics?
- Yes. The diffuser algorithms follow established number-theoretic sequences such as quadratic residue and primitive root designs, and the analysis uses standard room-acoustic relationships such as the Sabine equation and modal frequency calculations. See our methodology page for the standards and formulas behind each tool.
